Our Story.

Rick Buechler began his building career 26 years ago in Columbus, Ohio, working for a local building company that built 140 homes per year in a few central Ohio neighborhoods. Over the next 15 years Rick helped to grow the company, becoming General Manager and Sr. Executive Vice President responsible for development, sales and construction of a now publicly traded company that built over 1600 homes per year in 32 communities throughout central Ohio and its suburbs along with creating a custom home division.

Kim Buechler has a background in marketing, advertising and design working in Columbus Ohio for a regional bank creating advertising and direct marketing to grow national portfolios.

This experience allowed Rick and Kim to found Rick Buechler Custom Homes, Inc. on Lake Oconee in 1999 with one goal: to build exceptional homes with uncompromising quality and value.

Rick and Kim reside in Reynolds Plantation where, together, they have built over 100 custom homes – developing a reputation of honesty, integrity, and trust with clients that is paramount to the building process. They share a commitment to provide the best building experience through constant communication, accurate cost estimation, hands-on project management with supervision on site daily and design assistance to take your thoughts, ideas and dreams and turn them in to reality.

Rick Buechler Custom Homes and Rick Buechler are licensed with the state of Georgia as a residential/General Contractor and Business. We are an approved builder in the Reynolds Plantation Builders Association, members of the Lake Oconee Areas Builders Association, where Rick currently is on the executive board, and members of the Home Builders Association of Georgia and the National Home Builders Association.
